Are you a Bollywood fan? Do you love the glamour of Bollywood female stars? Do you love grooving to their famous dance steps?

If your response is yes, then an upcoming theatrical in Auckland is just for you. Titled ‘She is Bollywood', the event is organised by Akshita Nama of Indiance, New Zealand’s original Bollywood dance school. It is a tribute to the leading ladies of Bollywood throughout the years.

The massive stage production will see a crew of 100 artistes enthralling Aucklanders with their performances on over 60 songs. It will take place on Saturday 15 October at Bruce Mason Centre (The Promenade, Takapuna, Takapuna Beach) from 7.30 pm onwards.

It may be noted that Indiance has already done successful productions such as ‘Finding Aaliyah’, ‘The Arranged Divorce’, ‘Bombay Beat: Bollywood Heat’ and others in the past. This new production, which endeavours to celebrate the talent, grace, beauty and power of the Bollywood queens, is coming after a gap of five years.

Talking to Indian Weekender, a visibly excited Akshita said, “The show will pay a befitting tribute to around 20 heroines of Bollywood right from Madhubala to Jhanvi Kapoor. The event will see costumes galore, classic music and dances across eras that will bring nostalgia into the air. I expect everyone who comes to our show to leave the venue at the night's end with a huge smile and memories galore.”

The event will see a story woven around the achievements of these actresses and will celebrate their cinematic journey. "Our production is not just about dances but about celebrating the achievements of these actresses. The show will also let people know the history of these actresses.”

When asked about the ticket sale, Akshita proudly says, “It is great that we are back after the pandemic. We are overwhelmed with the rate of ticket sales so far. Only a few tickets are left now. So, please don't wait and grab your tickets from Ticketmaster.co.nz, else you will regret it."

Even Aucklanders are pretty excited and eagerly waiting for the show. Tina Kapoor, one of the Kiwi-Indian community members who has already bought the ticket, says, "I am looking forward to the show. I love Bollywood, and this show will be a great tribute to the Bollywood stars.”
