Auckland is gearing up for a high on music night. The event, titled Dil Chahta Hai, organised by Rachit Bhatia of Rachit Music, will see 13 artistes, including four singers enthralling Aucklanders with their performances. It will take place on Saturday 24th September at 6 PM at the Dorothy Winstone Centre (16 Howe Street, Freemans Bay.)

A visibly excited Bhatia said, “The concept of Dil Chahta Hai as a concert has been dreamt of and formed over the past 20 years. It's not a tribute to just one person or a single era, but rather a highlight reel of all the melodies that have taken a special place in all our hearts up until today. I expect each person to exit the venue at the night's end with a huge smile and memories to last a long time.”

Bhatia maintains that he wanted to present a show with NZ's finest Bollywood artistes where each generation of a single family could enjoy it equally and move through multiple eras of Bollywood music close to their hearts

The show will see a team of 13 talented artistes performing. “I'm pleased we could put this team of four singers together - Arpita Chanda, Ankita Ghatani, Raul Cardoza, and yours truly, who are being backed by eight of NZ's finest musicians led by Hemant Thaker. Also navigating our audience through the night, tying all the songs together into a playlist they'll love, will be our MC Junoo, one of the top RJs here,” reveals Bhatia. Incidentally, this show marks the 20th anniversary of Bhatia’s first singing performance in NZ.

When asked how the tickets are selling, Bhatia proudly says, “We are pleasantly surprised with the rate of ticket sales so far. It has surpassed our expectations. Tickets are going fast, with people purchasing not only from Auckland but also from Wellington and other cities outside Auckland. So, please don't wait and grab your tickets now.

Even Aucklanders are looking forward to the show. Tania, one of the community members who bought the ticket, says, "I am excited about the show and relive Bollywoods’ greatest songs over the last decades.”

The show will take place on Saturday 24 September at 6 PM at the Dorothy Winstone Centre (16 Howe Street, Freemans Bay) and has Indian Weekender as its media partner. Tickets available at TicketBazaar start from  $30, or contact: Rajesh on 0221341234
