Auckland is all set for a power-packed musical night as famous Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann will perform in the city next month.
Known for famous songs such as Oye Hoye, Nach Le Gaa Le, Lae Maaye, Ankhiyanch Neendar, Nach Le Gaa Le, Haaye Meri Billo and Hor Di Toon Doli Charh Gayi, among others, the 56-year-old is currently touring Australia as part of The Marvellous Tour.
His show in Auckland is scheduled to take place at the Vodafone Event Centre in Manukau on September 9 (Friday).
Sharing his excitement about performing in Aotearoa, Mann said, “I have done shows all over the world, but New Zealand holds an extraordinary place in my heart. I have always received lots of love. The audience in NZ is one of the best in the whole wide world from my experience. I will see you guys soon with some new, some old songs.”
Interesting, unlike other celebrity shows, the ticket for this show is only $15. The event is organised by JK Star Productions, and Indian Weekender is the media partner of the same.
Sharing his excitement about the show, Karam Hundal of JK Star Productions says, “We expect the event to be sold out weeks before the actual date. The event is going to commence at 7 pm with a bhangra performance. Harbhajan Mann will be performing from 7.30 pm for around 3 hours.”
When asked why the tickets are priced at just $15, Hundal explains, “This is a full family cultural event, and these events are a must if we need to stay connected to our roots. We have had a great response since 2015 for such shows as everyone wants to bring their kids to give them a glimpse of our rich Indian culture. That's why we have tickets for just $15 so that no one misses out. We thank our sponsors who help us organise these events and make them affordable for the community.”
Like the organisers, event Mann's fans across NZ can't wait to see him perform live in NZ. Harkeerat Kaur, who stays in Pukekohe, is an ardent fan of Mann, says, “I am excited to see MR Mann performing his famous songs. It will be a dream come true to have him singing and performing live in front of me."
While in NZ, Mann, who has starred in Punjabi films such as Jee Aayan Nu (2002), Asa Nu Mann Watnan Da (2004), Heer Ranjha (2009) and Jag Jeondeyan De Mele (2009), will also be performing at Rotorua, Christchurch and Hamilton.
