An event by the women, of the women and for the women is how one can best describe the launch of Midlife Madness – a Facebook group that aims to empower women and focuses on holistic development and the mental and emotional wellbeing of women.
The celebration took place on Saturday (May 14th) at the Ormiston Activity Centre. Through this event, the founder of Midlife Madness, Ranjita Sandhu, shared the group's mission, vision, and aim with other members and inspired them to live a purposeful and meaningful life.
“Midlife Madness is about providing a safer environment to vulnerable and marginalised women, supporting them in real-life challenges and breaking stereotypes,” said Ranjita.
The event had motivational speakers inspiring and encouraging the attendees by sharing their wisdom and insights.
Another highlight of the afternoon was when a real-life domestic violence survivor shared her story, making everyone present at the event quite emotional.
Sharing her experience, Daman Kaur, one of the attendees, said, "It was a well-organised event, and I enjoyed every bit listening to motivational speeches, the story of domestic violence survivor, Ranjita's poem as well as self make-up tutorial and interactive dance.”
Sailing in the same boat, Lara Sami, another guest, said, "I thoroughly enjoyed the event. It was very engaging. I felt inspired and motivated after being here.”
