Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Dr Ashley Bloomfield will provide an Omicron update
at 11am today - signaling a possible move into the red traffic light system.
The pair will hold the press conference at 11 am.
If the Omicron variant is found to be circulating, the country will be moved back to the red setting of the traffic light system within 24 to 48 hours, the Prime Minister has previously said.
