Do you have a community project that could do with a bit of manpower?
In March next year, the Bank of New Zealand will close its business for a day and let its 5000 employees in the community to help with appropriate projects.
In 2009, the BNZ helped with more than 500 different projects in our communities and on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, it is taking on that challenge once again.
“We will be closing our stores and most of our support offices ‘for good’ so that up to 5000 of us can lend a hand on projects throughout the country,” said Raja Venkatesh of BNZ.
“Between now and January 26, we’ll be looking for projects to work on. So if you or someone you know could use our help, make a submission and let us know what needs doing.”
You don’t need to be a BNZ customer to have your project chosen – but the project does need to be something that will benefit the community.
On that day, March 9, BNZ customers will still be able to bank by internet, phone or at an ATM. And of course, it will be business as usual on the days before and after the “Closed for Good” day.
