University of Canterbury Covid-19 modeller professor Michael Plank says 100 Covid-19 patients going to hospital a week is a "likely scenario" by early next month.
At the current spread, he is predicting about 150 cases a day by early November.
That's 1000 cases a week.
Plank predicts 10 to 20 people a week could need intensive care.
In the past seven days, there have been 300 community cases - an average of 43 a day.
