There are 20 new community cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand today.
All of today's new cases are in Auckland. The total number of cases in the community is 821.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Bloomfield will announce any alert level decisions taken by Cabinet, and provide an update on the current outbreak, from the Beehive at 4pm.
Five cases from today are yet to be epidemiologically linked to the outbreak.
Just five of yesterday's 20 cases have been infectious in the community. The rest were in isolation throughout the period they were infected.
There are 40 Covid patients in hospital, and six are in ICE or on a high dependency unit.
The government will announce later today if Covid-19 alert level restrictions will be loosened for regions outside of Auckland.
Cases linked to the current outbreak have so far been detected only in Auckland and Wellington.
Covid-19 swabbing numbers have been falling so fast in the city, some centres closed early at the weekend.
The daily press briefing today will be at 4pm today, in which people are eagerly awaiting an update on the goof up that happened in Middlemore hospital where a Covid positive case shared a room with three other unsuspecting patients recuperating from surgery.
