The 4th Ara Institute Canterbury All Nations T20 cricket tournament has come to an end with team All Rounders lifting up the trophy for this season.

The T20 tournament organised by Christchurch Metro Cricket Association and Christchurch Multicultural Association gained momentum over the last three years with 15 teams participating this year getting just over 200 players on the field.

Team All Rounders beat Kings XI Punjab to win the final match, and the third place was taken by All Blacks Punjab.

Satinder Singh from All Rounders was awarded as Player of the Tournament, Hardeep Singh from Kings XI Punjab with Top Batsman and Rahul Bhakor from All Rounders as the Top Bowler award.

Held every Sunday at Polo Grounds, Hagley Park in Christchurch, two rounds of six games each were played each day leading up to the semi-finals and final that was held on 13 December.

The tournament was created four years ago to encourage cricket lovers from different ethnic backgrounds to come and play the much-loved game of cricket. The aim was also to get young migrant cricketers to show their skills on the cricket ground that would further lead them to bigger leagues and tournaments in and around New Zealand.

The players participating in this tournament come from diverse ethnic backgrounds such as Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Kiwis, and Bangladesh.
