Dr Ashley Bloomfield reported five new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24-hours, three of them in the community from existing known cluster and two from overseas.
The two imported cases are of a woman in her 50s and a man in his 30s, the the travel details of whom will be released soon.
The Auckland Regional Public Health has released a notice related to Mt Roskill Evangelical Church on Stoddard Road from where five people were reported positive. ARPH has requested the following people who attended the church to inform ARPH, and self isolate.
People who attended church services on 8, 9 and 11 August at Mt Roskill Evangelical Church and a wedding ceremony on 7 August are requested to check for symptoms, self isolate and wear mask at all times.
There are 2422 close contacts connected to the Auckland cluster, 2368 have been contacted and asked to self isolate, and the rest are being contacted.
There are 163 related to the Auckland cluster who are now sent into quarantine of which 90 reported positive to tests.
There are a total of nine people in hospital of whom three in ICU. There are two in Auckland City Hospital, both stable, three at North Shore Hospital of whom three are stable and one in ICU in critical condition and four people at Middlemore Hospital of who two are stable and two in critical condition receiving care in ICU.
There is an additional person in Waikato Hospital, under investigation for Covid.
The total number of active cases in New Zealand are 134 of which 21 are imported and total cases till date is 1344.
Ranui, Randwick Park in Manurewa, and Point England are the locations of today's pop up testing clinics. Dr Bloomfield says this is to make sure the west and south Auckland Pacific communities are able to easily access tests and he would encourage these communities to do so.
There are a team of 70 people processing exemptions, Dr Bloomfield says.
