Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield reported 11 new cases in the last 24 hours, 9 in community in Auckland and two imported.
The two imported cases are, a woman in her 30s who arrived from London via Hong Kong on 15 August and got sick on 19 August. The second imported case is a traveller from Basra who travelled via Dubai and got sick around 16-17 August. Both have been moved into quarantine facilities.
With 11 new cases there are 105 active cases currently and 1315 total cases till date.
143 have been moved to quarantine facility are linked to the Auckland cluster of which 70 were tested positive.
There are eight people in hospital due to Covid-19 - two in Auckland City, one in North Shore Hospital and five in Middlemore Hospital, including one in ICU.
Dr Bloomfield also confirmed that the St Lukes case has now been linked to larger cluster through genome tracing, and that the person may have been on the same bus with another case.
He said there were 223 contacts from churches linked to the main cluster in this country - 170 tested, and further tracing would continue.
