The sixth flight under Indian government’s Vande Bharat Mission to repatriate Indian nationals in New Zealand has taken off from the Auckland Airport at 2 p.m. this afternoon.
The Air India flight AI1317 took off from Auckland Airport with around 200 passengers this afternoon and is scheduled to make its first stop at New Delhi at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 (India Time) and then fly further to Trivandrum, and then onwards to its final destination Chennai.
Excluding today’s flight, five rounds of flights have ferried from Auckland to different parts of India in the last 25 days to destinations such as Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Chennai, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad and Mumbai in the last 25 days.
More than 1200 stranded Indian nationals have been ferried from New Zealand back to India who were all checked by medical professionals at the Auckland Airport before boarding.
For the last three upcoming flights under the Vande Bharat Mission Phase 3, scheduled to fly on Sunday, June 28, Wednesday, July and Friday, July 3, the Indian High Commission has asked stranded Indian nationals to make fresh registrations.
“We intend to make fresh registration and seek expression of interest from stranded Indian nationals in NZ for forthcoming flights.
“Even if you have already registered and awaiting an invitation from the High Commission/Air India, you are requested to register again by visiting the following link: https://forms.gle/nfnYLaw1U1UQiFjcA,” the press statement read.
The release further asked to make sure to fill-up separate registration form for each of the family members willing to travel on the forthcoming flights.
