The wait for a repatriation flight for Indian nationals stranded in New Zealand is finally over. The government of India, under the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’, will land an Air India flight to Wellington from New Delhi on Thursday, June 4 to take its nationals back home.
The long-awaited repatriation flight from India to New Zealand that can potentially also bring stranded Kiwis while concomitantly taking stranded Indians back home, details have emerged.
As the Indian Weekender has reported earlier that proactive diplomacy between both the countries can eventually bring smiles on the faces of thousands of stranded people in both the countries wishing to travel on both sides, the details of first such flight have emerged on India's national carrier's Air India's website.
The flight from New Delhi to Wellington is scheduled on Thursday, 4th June, under the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’, as the Indian government has named its global repatriation mission to bring back its stranded nationals from overseas.
The repatriation flight, Air India AI 1306 will depart from Wellington Airport at 1:30 p.m. (NZT) for New Delhi on Sunday, June 7, 2020.
