The long-awaited repatriation flight from India to New Zealand that can potentially also bring stranded Kiwis while concomitantly taking stranded Indians back home have emerged.
As the Indian Weekender had reported earlier that proactive diplomacy between both the countries can eventually bring smiles on the faces of thousands of stranded people in both the countries wishing to travel on both sides, the details of first such flight have emerged on India's national carrier's Air India's website.
The flight from New Delhi to Wellington is scheduled on Thursday, 4th June, under the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’, as the Indian government has named its global repatriation mission to bring back its stranded nationals from overseas.
The Indian Weekender has contacted MFAT, and more details are awaited, but it is likely as, on the previous occasion, MFAT will be contacting stranded nationals individually and advising them of further actions.
