Provisionally selected Kiwis stranded in India boarding their first flight back home have received the details, and guidelines of their travel from Safe Travel.
The details sent to provisionally selected Kiwis revealed that their booking will remain provisional until they complete their flight payments and New Zealand health requirements.
The first flight will depart from the New Delhi Airport, tentatively scheduled at 2 a.m. (Indian Standard Time) on Friday, April 24.
The email confirmed that New Zealand government is working with Orbit World Travel to bring New Zealanders and their immediate family back home from India.
The email also mentioned the two meals services will be provided during the flight, with no alcohol and Wifi on board and standard 30 kg per person check-in and 7 kg cabin baggage per person will be allowed.
You are receiving this email as you have submitted an Expression of Interest for a New Zealand Government facilitated charter flight. We are pleased to confirm that your registration has been PROVISIONALLY ACCEPTED. Your booking will remain provisional until you complete the payment and health questionnaire requirements detailed in this email.
FLIGHT INFORMATION
You have now been provisionally accepted on the first Air New Zealand charter flight from Delhi to Auckland, which is tentatively scheduled to depart India on Friday 24 April at 2am. This is subject to final confirmations from the airline, and obtaining the necessary approvals from the Indian Government.
NEW ZEALAND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
Before your booking can be confirmed, the New Zealand Ministry of Health has requested that we collect further information. This information will be used to assist our planning for the flight and, where relevant, for arrangements in New Zealand on arrival. It is important that you give accurate and honest information. Once you have completed the health questionnaire, you will be transferred to the payment section.
If you have a significant health condition not related to COVID-19, or if you require special assistance on board, please complete Air New Zealand’s special assistance procedures before Tuesday 21 April, in order to guarantee you can travel on the 24th of April.

INDIA PRE-SCREENING HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
In accordance with Government of India requirements, if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you may be denied entry to ground transport and the airport:

COST
The cost of this flight from India to New Zealand (including ground transport in India) is NZD$5,500 per seat per person.
This does not include the cost of your accommodation arrangement prior to your flight.
If accommodation is required, the cost of a one night stay in a hotel, including breakfast, will be around 5000-6000INR (tax inclusive).
Once you have completed the health questionnaire, you will be transferred to the payment section.
We strongly recommend that you make payment by credit card as quickly as possible to secure your seat/s on the flight.
GROUND TRANSPORT
The New Zealand High Commission in Delhi will organise ground transport for all passengers to Indira Gandhi Airport in New Delhi prior to the flight, including permission to travel. Once your booking is confirmed, your contact details will be provided to our ground transport provider, Asian Travel House, who will contact you to provide details regarding pick-up times and locations. Their email address will end with @asiantravelhouse.com. This is the only company authorised to contact you about ground transport for the flight.
You will be required to wear a mask at all times during the journey. Please bring sufficient water, food, and medicine for the length of the bus journey, and note that there will be minimal stops along the way in order to minimise risks to passengers.
ACCOMMODATION – PRE FLIGHT
You may be required to stay at an airport hotel for one night before the flight departs India, at your own cost. We will provide further information about this once we have confirmed ground transport arrangements.
VALID VISAS required to DEPART INDIA
In accordance with Government of India requirements, you must have a valid visa in order to depart India, or you must have applied for a visa extension through the FRRO. If you are in India on a temporary visa that has expired and have not yet applied for an extension, please visit https://indianfrro.gov.in/eservices/home.jsp to apply as soon as possible. Your application reference number can be shown as evidence of your application to airport immigration authorities on departure even if you have not received confirmation of extension.
QUARANTINE ARRANGEMENTS in NEW ZEALAND
Mandatory quarantine requirements have been put in place for all travellers arriving in New Zealand. You will be required to enter 14 days’ quarantine on arrival in New Zealand. Travellers need to bring with them everything they need for 14 days in isolation/quarantine as they will not be permitted to leave the facility. For example, you should bring sufficient and suitable clothing, baby supplies, personal medications, and hygiene products/toiletries to cover 14 days.
