An Indian jewellery store on White Swan Road, Mt Roskill has been robbed in broad daylight earlier on Wednesday, November 6.

Police reported that the incident occurred shortly after midday when two male offenders entered the store before driving off with an unaccounted amount of jewellery.

Police said fortunately, no one was injured in the incident but whether the offenders were carrying any weapon has not been disclosed by the police.

NZ Herald reported that a witness from the opposite liquor store said that he saw a number of police cars outside the store around 1 p.m. and there was smoke coming out of the store.

It appeared that the smoke alarm might have been activated, but this has not been confirmed.

The Indian Weekender has reached out to Roopdarshan for comments.

Police later during the day located an unoccupied vehicle that is believed to have been involved in the incident.

Police is investigating the incident, and no one has been arrested yet.

“This [the unoccupied vehicle located] will be examined as part of our enquiries in relation to the offenders involved,” Detective Senior Sergeant Kathy Bostock, from Auckland City Police said.
