Megh Raj Mitter, founder of Rationalist Society Punjab, now named Tarksheel Society, is the chief guest at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Trust seminar in Hamilton on Sunday.
The seminar will be held at the Celebrating Age Centre on Victoria Street on Sunday, May 16, 2-5.30pm.
After obtaining qualifications of Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education and Master of Education, Megh Raj Mittar has been serving the Education department, Punjab since 1970.
He is the editor and founder of the journal named Vigyan Jyoti (Scientific Light). This magazine encourages masses to shun superstitions and blind faith in order to adopt the path of science, logic and reason.
Megh Raj Mittar has authored 15 books in Punjabi. Some of the books have been translated into other Indian languages. Among his writings the most popular are Dev Purush Har Gaye, Dev, Daint te Roohan, Raushani, Tarkbani, Vigyan Jyoti, Vigyan Ate Pra-Vigyan, Bhootan Pretan Naal Yudh Kiven, Kan Kan Vich Vigyan, Made Taun Manukh Tak, Tarksheel Dimagi Kasratan, Dimagi Vikas Kiven Karien, Nanah Tarksheel, Tarkwad Ki hai.
