A grand night of entertainment was held in Auckland on Saturday – all for a good cause.
The Fiji Ke Bachchon Ke Naam Sangeet Bhari Shaam, organized by the Fiji Teachers Reunion, was held at the Old Papatoetoe Town Hall.
And according to spokesman Satya Swami, the evening was a grand success. Swami said the programme featured artistes from Fiji and India in a night of musical extravaganza and food.
“While entertaining people, this programme was organized to raise money needed to continue our assistance programme to the children of Fiji,” Swami said.
Swami said the group had organized several functions in the past and had collectively given the money to various causes in Fiji.
The Fiji Teachers Reunion comprises a group of former Fiji teachers dedicated to helping the needy children of Fiji.
Swami said they had not yet worked out the amount they would be donating this time, but said that judging by the turnout, “it looked good”.
