Two types of internships will be offered- Corporate Executive and Community Service Executive Internship with both having six positions- three male and three for females that the young Muslim graduates can take the benefit from.
The objective of the internship program is to enable recent Muslim graduates to gain intensive experience in real-world scenario.
It also aims to provide a bridge for those seeking full-time employment but who do not have the necessary NZ based experience that employers seek in a competitive job market.
The Corporate Executive Internship will cover subjects such as Finance, Marketing and International Marketing, Research, Project Management, Government and Private Sector Liaison, Business Planning, Strategic Development, Legal Affairs, IT (various areas) and Entrepreneurship.
The Community Service Executive Internship will cover Public Relations, Educational Services, Interfaith Relations, Research, Community Support, National and International Networking, Elderly Support Services, Health and Welfare Support, Publications and Social Media.
The one-year internship program will start from March 1, 2019, based at the FIANZ head office in Wellington.
Although there is no remuneration for the interns, the program will cover daily transport, working day lunches and clothing via a grant that amounts to a maximum of $3000 for a full year.
“FIANZ will provide work experience in event management, market research, human right advocacy, Halal business and IT and the programmes have been designed based on the internship programmes offered at government departments,” Mr Anwar Ghani, PR Liaison of FIANZ told The Indian Weekender.
Selected interns travelling from outside Wellington will also be assisted with home-stay and other arrangements and return airfares. This assistance is provided as an encouragement for graduates to apply from all over New Zealand.
“The applicants will be selected based on their educational merit and spirit of volunteerism and we are really looking forward to this internship project,” Mr Ghani added.
Interested applicants can send their CV and Cover Letter addressing to FIANZ specifying the program they are interested. The applications can be sent to info@fianz.com by Sunday, February 10.
