We have heard from reliable sources that our very own Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi has been elected the Chairman of the Law and Order Committee. Indeed we Indians are ‘Movers and Shakers’! We are especially proud of him for he was the first Kiwi-Indian MP, then became the first recipient of the Indian Weekender – Kiwi-Indian Hall of Fame. He is now the first-ever Indian to achieve this feat too.
The other big headline that is obviously topping all the charts now is the wake-up call Prime Minister Modi has received at what is being called India’s mini elections. Arvind Kejriwal has proven himself to be the biggest supporter of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, in the way his ‘Jhaadu’ (broom) has delivered a clean sweep in Delhi. All eyes will now be on Kejriwal to stand true to all his promises and to keep up to the dilliwalla’s expectations. Speculators even say that BJP was really not keen on Delhi as they are busy preparing for the bigger battles in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. But whatever the case maybe, the truth is that Kejriwal is all set to take oath on the 14th of February, exactly the day he resigned as Chief Minister, last year.
