Known stand-up comedian Harsh Gujral, who recently had three successful shows in New Zealand, left the audiences asking for more.
The 30-year-old, who is famous for his fresh and contemporary visual humour, struck a chord with audiences across Auckland and Christchurch.
While he had one show in Christchurch on Friday (August 26) at Westend Event and Function Venue, he had two back-to-back house full shows in Auckland on Saturday (August 27) at Studio The Venue, Auckland.
Nearly 1000 people attended the Auckland shows.
Gujral, who hails from Kanpur in India, visited NZ as part of his Azaadi tour. He also visited Australia during his tour, and in all completed ten shows and 5500 tickets were sold.
He shared his love for NZ during the Auckland shows. "It is amazing to be in such a beautiful country. It is a dream come true, and the love I have been showered with is incredible. I hope to be back in NZ soon," said Gujral.
His shows in Auckland also had an opening act by local artist Saurabh Singh which was also appreciated by Aucklanders.
The audience, too, was seen enjoying the event and making the most of it. Sharing his experience, one of the guests said, "Harsh made his mark with a super relatable desi style of narrative that connects with the audience very well. I through enjoyed his sense of humour which is so relatable. He has a strong narrative skill, which connects very well with the audience, "
Sharing his experience, another audience member, Priya, said, "I am a big Harsh Gujral fan, and it was so cool to see him performing live. I thoroughly enjoyed how he was roasting some of the audience members and interacting significantly with them. It was so much fun. His ability to highlight comic elements in everyday life is remarkable. ”
The organiser, too, was overwhelmed by the response to Harsh's shows. The spokesperson for Page3, the event management company behind the shows, said, “We are truly delighted with the response we got. It was great to see Aucklanders have a great time.”
His shows in Auckland were followed by the Azaadi party at the same venue. The afterparty saw Aucklanders celebrating India’s Independence Day over great music and dance.
One guest at the party, Rajat Dutt, said, "The vibe was great, and it was great to celebrate India's Independence day with Harsh in the house."
