The voice of legend “Mohammed Rafi” will boom across Dorothy Winstone Centre this Saturday in a one-off performance by one of his greatest fans, Bankim Pathak.
Bankim, an internationally renowned Mohammed Rafi “bhakt” will be performing live in Auckland with stage queen Daksha Gohil, and Bollywood musicians Bhupendra (keyboard0, and Faiz (rhythmist).
The programme – called Ek Yaad Rafi Ke Baad – a Tribute to the Legend - will also feature 16-year-old up and coming local star Avish Sharma.
Programme director Umesh Sharma told the Indian Weekender it would be an unforgettable night of entertainment for fans of Mohammed Rafi.
Lucky ticket holders also have the chance to go into a draw to win a return trip to Sydney.
Tickets, costing $25 and $35, are available from Payless Food Bazaar, Pan World Travel (Sandringham), Roop Drshan, Quality Mini Bazaar (Papatoetoe), Relianz Forex and Bikanerwala. Programme starts at 6.30pm.
