Universal Society of Bhakti Mediation is organising a series of talks, in English on Bhakti – the philosophy of meditation. The value of meditation is unquestioned. But why do you want to mediate? Because, depending on what you want, so will be your practice. Meditation can provide a means to connect to your blissful self, or it can simply be a method for stress release. Hear Swami Govindananda elaborate on the most profound meditation known as Bhakti Yoga, for it will give you everything – from peace of mind to experiencing the love of the essential Self.

These talks will be held at the Bhartiya Mandir, Balmoral Rd, Mt Albert, Auckland. 25th-27th May 2012 from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

Swami Govindananda visits yoga centres and Mandirs around the world. He illuminates the wisdom that lies at the heart of yoga and gives inspirational insights into the significance of human life. His program includes beautiful Kirtan meditation.

Swami Ji (Swami Govindananda) is the founder of Ji Living, Yoga Philosophy beyond the Mat. He is widely known for his depth of knowledge, his gentle, humorous nature and his ability to inspire in others the quest for genuine spiritual living. Through his Ji Living Online Videos, retreats, live presentations, written and recorded material, Swami Ji has touched the heart of many thousands of people.

Swami Ji embodies positive spirituality and through example shows how we can all live joyous lives while at the same time moving towards our fullest individual potential. He is a modern Holy man for today's times - a bright light for one and all.

Though a Westerner, born in New Zealand (he lives in Sydney, Australia), Swami Ji has spent many years in India learning personally from one of the country's historically accepted great Masters, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. He was taught philosophy and meditation at the deepest levels and after years of intensive training with this great Master, was accepted into the Swami order. He specializes on teaching the essence of the great Indian scriptures, the Vedas, Gita, Bhagawatam and Ramayan. He focuses on the philosophies of Karma, Gyan and Bhakti Yoga.

With this blend of cultures, Swami Ji brings extraordinary clarity to the complex and timeless philosophies of India, making this knowledge easy to understand in a way that has rarely been seen in the West. To aid his work, Swami Ji established the Bhakti Meditation Centre in 1990, an organization recognized by the Australian Government as a nonprofit charity. As an extension of this he has introduced Ji Living to enable a broader spectrum of people to find joy, hope and inspiration in their lives.
