After drawing acclaim for the multiple Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire and sashaying down the ramp in designer clothes, child actor Rubina Ali Qureshi has shot for a TV commercial with Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
The nine-year-old was plucked from the slums of Mumbai to star in the Danny Boyle movie, and her father hopes that her rising profile could lead to a better life for the family, reports contactmusic.com.
"We are very proud of her and hope she continues to become a big star. Maybe then, we will be able to live in a proper house. She was paid more for the ad than the movie," said Rubina's father Rafiq Ali.
The advertisement, for a soft drinks company, was produced by ?American Gangster? director Ridley Scott and directed by Shekhar Kapur in Udaipur recently. Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal also stars in the commercial.
