Mumbai, June 8: Music director Vishal Dadlani has thanked the Delhi High Court for rejecting a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against his latest composition ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ from upcoming Hindi film 'Shanghai'.
“PIL against #bharatmatakijai frm Shanghai, REJECTED by the Delhi High Court! The Court has protected freedom of speech! Many thanks!” tweeted Vishal.
“BHARAT MATA KI JAI! And today, with no sarcasm at all, and with deepest thanks to the Delhi High Court!” he posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The PIL was filed by Tejinder Bagga of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena objecting to the wordings in the controversial song.
Bagga said he has 'problems' with the lyrics of the song, especially where it says: "Sone ki chidiya, dengue, malaria, gud bhi hai, gobar bhi, Bharat Mata ki jai."
Shanghai is releasing on June 8 and stars Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin.
