Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor will be celebrating his 39th birthday today. The actor, who is known to have given stellar performances in films like Rockstar, Barfi and Sanju among others, has managed to carve a niche for himself in the Hindi film industry.
On his birthday, Indian Weekender spoke exclusively to his sister and successful fashion and jewellery designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahni who talks about their equation and more.
Talking about Ranbir, the 41-year-old-says, “Ranbir is the sweetest and most loving person I know. His sincerity toward his work as well as his family is beyond words. He is the best brother one can ask for. I love him to bits. I wish him the happiest birthday.”
Riddhima, who is married to Delhi based entrepreneur Bharat Sahni since 2006, was recently seen in an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, along with her mother, Neetu Kapoor.
On being asked if she and Ranbir still fight, she says, “We still fight a lot. We also argue, but the fact is that we look out for each other all the time! During our childhood, I would often bash Ranbir up, but now I refrain from doing so as he has grown much taller.”
Interestingly, Ranbir and Riddhima used to share a room until Riddhima got married.
Talking about the same, Riddhima was quoted as saying, “On my wedding Ranbir Roya hi hoyega khushi ke aansu. Jaa rahi hai, jaa rahi hai, room milega. Kyunki humlog room share karte the. Phir main gayi, usko apna room mil gaya (He must have cried happy tears that I am going and he will get the room. We used to share a room. I got married and he got his room),”
On being asked about her plans for Ranbir’s birthday, Riddhima said, “This year, I am in Delhi, and therefore there are no plans to be with him on his special day.” It may be noted that last year, Ranbir, the son of late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, spent the day with his mother, sister Riddhima and girlfriend and actor Alia Bhatt. While he went out for a lunch with Neetu and Riddhima, Alia shared a photo of the actor with two birthday cakes. She wrote, "happy birthday 8 (sic)," followed by a heart emoji.
Interestingly, ahead of his 39th birthday, Ranbir and Alia were spotted in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on Sunday. There are also rumours that Ranbir and Alia are in Jodhpur to search for their wedding venue.
The couple, has been dating for over three years now, and will be seen together in the film Brahmastra. Apart from that, Ranbir has Shamshera, Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s Animal and an untitled film with Shraddha Kapoor, directed by Luv Ranjan in the pipeline. Recently, Ranbir had joined Alia to celebrate her father filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's birthday.
