Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa was attacked by an unknown man after his performance at a concert in Vancouver, Canada on Sunday night, July 28.
The singer posted that he is doing well after returning to India from Canada through an Instagram post, stating that he "is home now, feeling secure."
In addition, the singer's team wrote an enormous note on Instagram together with a photograph of a bruised Guru Randhawa to share the information of the unexpected incident in Canada.
“Guru is back in India with four stitches on his right eyebrow and mega-successful USA/Canada tour. This incident happened in Vancouver on July 28, when Guru told one concert-goer got close to the stage via backstage not to come to the stage during his performance.
The team further added, that he [the alleged man] was still trying to get on stage again even after being denied permission and suddenly he began fighting with everyone on backstage.
The man was known to the local event promoter Surinder Sanghera who sent him away at the time of the show.
When Guru completed his show and left the stage he was allegedly punched on his face by the same person.
Guru began bleeding from his forehead above his eyebrow on the spot and returned to the stage to show the audience.”
Following this incident, the team of Guru Randhanwa announced that he will no longer perform any concerts in Canada.
“Guru is back to India, he is feeling safe at house. And he stated that for the rest of his life, he will not going to perform in Canada.”
The team further added, “His god Guru Nanak Dev Ji saved him and prayed to Waheguru to give that person a good sense of understanding of what to do and what not to do. Your love and support for everything we need.”
Various other singers also commented in favor of Guru Randhawa in addition to this. Singer Preet Harpal wrote a note, “I've known Guru for a long time… He is a very genuine person and always respect others. But this is a very bad thing. I don’t know what is happening to the society,” Singer Harpal added.
