Airtel Talkies is an innovation in the Mobile Entertainment space providing exclusive content from both upcoming movie releases and acclaimed all-time classics.
“The Japanese Wife, through its significant and multiple Bengali connections, is a widely anticipated movie in this market. We are very pleased to announce the availability of exclusive movie content related to this movie for our customers,” said Deepak Srivastava, CEO, Bharti Airtel, Kolkata, West Bengal & Orissa Telecom Circle.
The film features the renowned team of Mr. & Mrs. Iyer – director Aparna Sen and actor Rahul Bose. It deals with a love story of pen-friends who live in different countries and fall in love, eventually getting married through letters without having ever met.
Apurv Nagpal, MD of Saregama, said, “We admire Aparna’s work and ability to interpret love. This is not just a film but a lyrical love poem, very different to anything out there in today’s age of instant gratification.”
The film features a stellar cast: Miyage is played by a Japanese actress, Chigusa Takaku – a first for Indian cinema. Rahul Bose as Snehamoy, showcases a range of emotions as he transforms from a college student to an elderly man. The movie also features Raima Sen and Moushumi Chatterjee, the latter returning to the screen after two decades.
