The police have arrested several people, including Hindu Raksha Dal national convenor Pinki Choudhary, for attacking Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office at Kaushambi in Ghaziabad city on Wednesday, reports said.
Choudhary was reportedly arrested from Sahibabad area.
Protesting against the Kashmir referendum remark of AAP leader Prashant Bhushan, activists of Hindu Rakshak Sena, led by its leader Vishnu Gupta, on Wednesday vandalised the party office at Kaushambi.
The AAP said it has registered a First Information Report (FIR) in the case.
"FIR registered with following sections: 147, 149, 153, 354, 427, 436, 452, 504, 506 IPC and 7 CLA," tweeted AAP.
Police said no one was injured. They were holding red flags and shouting slogans.
They pelted stones and damaged the premises of the AAP office.
Coming under attack for his statement over a referendum in Kashmir, Bhushan on Monday said his comment was being misinterpreted and that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
In his statement, Bhushan said, "Headlines Today and Aaj Tak has sensationalised my statement."
AAP member Dilip Pandey read out Bhushan's statement, which said, "It is a prerogative of the state to deploy armed forces for the security of the state."
Bhushan said, "The AAP is of the view that Kashmir is an integral part of India. Needless to say that I share this view."
His statement claimed that in the interview to a news channel, he said 'impunity of AFSPA should be removed in order to win the hearts of the people of Kashmir'.
"Any reference to referendum shouldn't be misconstrued to mean plebiscite on Kashmir's relationship with India," read the statement.
