French President to visit India

New Delhi: President of France Nicolas Sarkozy will be paying a working visit to India from December 4 - 7, at the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
 
He will be accompanied by Carla Sarkozy, a high-level delegation including several key Ministers of his Cabinet, senior officials, business-persons and media. 

The French President will commence his visit in Bengaluru on 4 December, where he will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation.
 
On 5 December, he will proceed on a private visit to Agra.
 
On 6 December, in New Delhi, the French President will call on President of India and will hold talks with Prime Minister.
 
He will also travel to Mumbai on 7 December where he will visit the Police Memorial of 26/11, attend a community function for giving awards to Taj/Oberoi management for their support to French Nationals during the Mumbai attacks of 26/11, and participate in a business conference.

India and France share a strategic partnership forged in 1998.
 
India-France relations are broad-based and include important areas such as, civil nuclear cooperation, space, defence, trade & investment, science & technology and cultural exchanges.
