The Bombay High Court granted bail to Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s son Aryan Khan on Thursday, October 28.
While the full bail order is yet to come, Aaryan and two others with him are expected to walk out of the Arthur Road jail tomorrow, or on Saturday, after completion of all legal papers and bail bonds.
Aaryan was arrested on October 3 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) following a raid on a rave party on board Cordelia Cruises' Empress ship in Mumbai. The raid was conducted on October 2.
Since then, 23 year old Aryan had been in NCB custody. On October 8, he was sent to Arthur Road jail in Mumbai. After 20 days in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail, and 5 days in NCB and judicial custody, Aryan Khan was granted bail.
While seeking bail for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan‘s son in the Bombay High Court on Thursday, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi gave a rejoinder to NCB’s response. On behalf of Aryan, Rohatgi said, “There were 1,300 people on the cruise. I did not know anybody else except Arbaaz and Achit. Their (NCB’s) case is — it is no coincidence and therefore it is a conspiracy. Conspiracy is a meeting of the minds. It cannot be based on coincidence. You (NCB) have failed to prove meeting of minds with these eight people and therefore called them independently. There is absolutely no material for the purpose of the conspiracy.”
This case has also spilled over to massive extortion allegations against NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhade, investigation for which are currently on.
