Toronto: India and Canadahave inked a civil nuclear deal during the ongoing visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here for the G-20 Summit.

The deal might be signed when Singh met Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Canada is rich in uranium resources, essential for nuclear energy development.

The two countries would sign agreements for cooperation in the mining and higher education sectors besides culture and social security.

The civil nuclear deal with Canada would be a landmark in the relations between the two nations with Canada earlier accusing India of using plutonium from reactors supplied by it for the 1974 nuclear tests.

India has already signed a much publicized civil nuclear agreement with USA. India also signed a similar deal with France.
