Mumbai Police have summoned Siddhanth Kapoor, brother of Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor, in connection with a high-profile drug seizure case. According to a report by news agency PTI, Siddhanth has been asked to appear before investigators on November 25 to record his statement.
This development comes days after the police also summoned social media personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry. Orry, however, failed to appear and instead sought additional time, sending his lawyer on his behalf, as reported by Hindustan Times.
The names of Siddhanth Kapoor and Orry surfaced during the interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, the key accused in the massive ₹252-crore mephedrone (MD) drug bust. The Ghatkopar unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) recorded Shaikh’s statements after he was deported from Dubai last month, as reported by Hindustan Times.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, during questioning, Shaikh allegedly claimed he had organised grand parties in Mumbai and Dubai, attended by high-profile celebrities.
As reported by the Hindustan Times, Shaikh named individuals, including Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor, filmmakers Abbas, Mustan, rapper Loka, Orry, and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, as attendees. These claims have brought the celebrities under the police scanner.
Siddhanth Kapoor has not released any public statement regarding the latest summons. Notably, he was detained in Bengaluru in 2022 on allegations of drug consumption, though he was later released.
Meanwhile, Orry, who asked for time until November 25, was spotted attending rapper Travis Scott’s concert in Mumbai on November 19, the same week he skipped police questioning.
The case dates back to March 2024, when police seized 126.14 kg of mephedrone, valued at approximately ₹252 crore, from an illegal manufacturing facility on a farm in Sangli district. Shaikh, considered the mastermind behind the operation, allegedly confessed to hosting rave parties across India and abroad for celebrities.
Police investigations are ongoing, and further statements from those summoned are expected in the coming days.
