Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is preparing to embrace motherhood as she awaits the arrival of her first child with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru. According to Hindustan Times, the couple, who tied the knot in December 2025, announced in June that they are expecting their first baby together.
Now, Samantha has opened up about her pregnancy, describing it as a long-awaited and deeply meaningful chapter in her life.
Speaking in an interview with Pinkvilla, Samantha reflected on this new phase, calling it both exciting and emotional. According to Hindustan Times, the actor said becoming a mother has been a dream she has cherished for a long time.
"It's definitely new and exciting. But I've been waiting for this moment for a while now. I've always wanted to be a mother. So I know that I'll be giving this my all."
According to Hindustan Times, Samantha was first spotted with a visible baby bump during the success celebrations of her recent release, Maa Inti Bangaaram, before later confirming the news publicly.
The actor also spoke about how pregnancy has brought a renewed sense of purpose and strength into her life. According to Hindustan Times, she said that while she has always approached life with passion, this journey has given her an entirely new perspective.
"I've always been passionate about everything in life. But now I feel I carry a different, new kind of strength and purpose in me. I'm looking forward to this journey a lot. And I'm filled with gratitude, learning every day, and getting ready to embrace whatever comes next," said the actor.
According to Hindustan Times, Samantha also addressed her upcoming career plans and confirmed that she will be taking another break from acting after Maa Inti Bangaaram. She explained that the decision is linked to both her health and her pregnancy.
"After Maa Inti Bangaaram, I will have to take a small gap, given my condition. I'll have to take maternity leave. After that, I'll be back with another film for my fans."
According to Hindustan Times, Samantha had previously taken time away from work after being diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition that required treatment and recovery.
The report also revisited Samantha's personal journey. According to Hindustan Times, she was previously married to actor Naga Chaitanya. After dating for several years, the couple married in Goa in 2017 before announcing their separation in 2021, just days before their wedding anniversary.
Raj Nidimoru was previously married to Shhyamali De, although the exact timeline of their separation has not been publicly disclosed. According to Hindustan Times, Samantha and Raj's relationship eventually led to their marriage in December 2025, and the couple are now looking forward to welcoming their first child together.
Professionally, Samantha continues to celebrate a major milestone with Maa Inti Bangaaram. According to Hindustan Times, the film, directed by Nandini Reddy and produced by Raj Nidimoru, has earned over ₹100 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing female-led Telugu film to date.
As Samantha prepares to take maternity leave, she says she is embracing this new chapter with gratitude, optimism, and excitement, while assuring fans that she plans to return to films after welcoming her baby.
