Kim Kardashian may have portrayed a lawyer on screen, but her real-life attempt to enter the legal profession has hit a setback.

The reality TV star revealed in a social media post that she did not pass the California Bar Exam, a notoriously difficult test required to become a licensed attorney in the state.

“Well… I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” Kardashian wrote, referring to her upcoming legal drama All’s Fair. “I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up, just more studying and even more determination,” Stuff quoted.

Kardashian thanked her supporters for their encouragement throughout her six-year legal studies journey. “Falling short isn’t failure, it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam, and that only motivates me even more. Let’s go!” she added, as reported by Stuff.

Known for its difficulty, the California Bar Exam has one of the lowest pass rates in the United States, with just over half of test-takers succeeding last year.

Kardashian passed the “baby bar”, the state’s first-year law students’ exam, in 2021, after three previous attempts. She graduated earlier this year and has expressed her ambition to follow in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who famously defended O.J. Simpson during his 1995 murder trial, as reported by Stuff.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Kardashian said she views becoming a trial attorney as the next major step in her career.
