Fire truck rolls while responding to Manawatū vegetation fire, three injured

Three people have been injured after a Fire and Emergency New Zealand truck responding to a vegetation fire rolled in Manawatū on Thursday afternoon.

According to a report by 1News, emergency services were called to Mt Biggs Rd in Halcombe at about 12.21 pm after the crash.

Hato Hone St John said it sent two ambulances, a rapid response unit and an operations manager to the scene. Two of the injured people were in moderate condition, with one taken to Whanganui Hospital and the other transported to Palmerston North Hospital, 1News has reported.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand said the truck crashed while responding to a vegetation fire on Mt Biggs Road.

Emergency crews brought the vegetation fire under control by about 12.30 pm, while crews remained at the scene, 1News has reported.

Cordons were also put in place as emergency services responded to the incident.

Fire and Emergency said it would provide support to those involved in the crash, as reported by 1News.
