The wait for the final chapter of the Drishyam franchise is getting more intense, with Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn, set to return with his family on October 2. According to NDTV, the upcoming film, titled Drishyam The Conclusion, will take the story forward with Vijay facing not one but three major challenges as he once again attempts to protect his family and stay ahead of the law, as reported by NDTV.
This time, Vijay will have to deal with two new adversaries — Jaideep Ahlawat, who plays an SP from the Crime Branch, and Prakash Raj, who joins the film as a lawyer. At the same time, Tabu’s Meera Deshmukh, Vijay’s long-standing adversary from the previous films, will return to continue her pursuit of the truth.
As reported by NDTV, the central question surrounding the third instalment is how far Vijay will go to protect his family and whether he can once again outsmart the authorities. After successfully creating an elaborate cover story around the events of the earlier films, Vijay now faces an even greater challenge as his past continues to catch up with him.
The film’s storyline raises another intriguing question: how inventive can Vijay become when it comes to concealing what has already become his infamous crime?
According to NDTV, Ajay Devgn had earlier unveiled the first poster of the film on August 24, officially announcing the final chapter of the franchise.
The poster featured a close-up of Ajay Devgn’s eye, instantly reminding audiences of Vijay Salgaonkar’s cautious and calculating personality. Written across the poster was the line:
"Mera sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai (My truth, my right is only my family),"
The statement captures the central philosophy that has defined Vijay throughout the Drishyam story. For him, protecting his family has always remained more important than following conventional ideas of right and wrong.
NDTV reported that the poster announcement further strengthened the expectation surrounding the third film, particularly because it is being positioned as the conclusion to Vijay Salgaonkar’s story.
The first-look teaser, which was released in December 2025, had already offered viewers a glimpse into Vijay’s state of mind and suggested that the final chapter would explore the consequences of everything that has happened over the past seven years.
In the teaser, Ajay Devgn’s voiceover reflects on the many identities that people have associated with Vijay over the years. He describes how he has been viewed as a criminal, murderer, deceiver and mastermind, while also being seen as a hero, an innocent man and a father.
As reported by NDTV, the voiceover establishes that Vijay has developed his own understanding of truth and justice, with his family remaining at the centre of everything he does.
"The world calls me by many names - criminal, murderer, deceitful, cunning, fraudulent, hero, innocent, father, and mastermind. But it doesn't matter to me. Because I understood one thing from whatever happened, whatever I did, saw, or showed in the past seven years: In this world, every person's truth is different, as are their rights. My truth and right are my family. As long as things don't stop, as long as others don't fail, I will stand here, like a gatekeeper and a wall."
The dialogue once again underlines the character’s determination to stand between his family and anyone who threatens them. According to NDTV, the teaser has already raised expectations about how Vijay’s story will ultimately conclude.
Backed by Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios, Drishyam The Conclusion is directed by Abhishek Pathak. The film continues the story of Vijay Salgaonkar, a seemingly ordinary and mild-mannered family man whose extraordinary ability to think ahead helped his family escape the reach of the law after a murder took place at their home.
NDTV reported that Ajay Devgn will reprise his role as Vijay, while Tabu and Sriya Saran are also returning as their respective characters from the earlier films.
The addition of Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj brings a fresh dimension to the story. Ahlawat will portray an SP from the Crime Branch, while Prakash Raj will appear as a lawyer. Their characters are expected to create new obstacles for Vijay and potentially put his carefully constructed story under greater scrutiny.
With Meera Deshmukh also returning, Vijay will have to face pressure from multiple directions. The combination of an experienced police officer, a lawyer and his old adversary could make his latest attempt to protect his family more difficult than ever.
As reported by NDTV, the return of the franchise’s central characters, combined with the introduction of new faces, has created considerable anticipation around the final chapter.
With Drishyam The Conclusion scheduled to arrive on October 2, audiences will be waiting to discover whether Vijay Salgaonkar can once again stay one step ahead — or whether the final chapter will finally expose the truth he has spent years protecting.
