A 24-year-old man has been arrested following a violent incident in Christchurch that left one person seriously injured early Tuesday, reported The New Zealand Herald.
According to a report by The New Zealand Herald, Emergency crews were called to a property on Sparks Road just after 2.30 am. Police said the victim was found with critical injuries and taken to the hospital, where their condition has since improved to stable.
The accused has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday.
Authorities say investigations into the assault are continuing.
