Indo-Australian singer, composer and performer Siyer has marked a career milestone after being featured on the newly Grammy-nominated album Shayan by award-winning pianist and composer Charu Suri, becoming the first Indian-Australian artist to appear on a Grammy-nominated album.

Siyer lends his voice to “Inner Peace”, a serene composition rooted in Raga Desh, which weaves Indian classical traditions with contemporary global sounds. The collaboration has been hailed as a proud moment for the Australian-Indian creative community.

Reflecting on the achievement, Siyer said, “Inner Peace represents the universal language of calm and connection. To bring that to life on a Grammy-nominated album is a true honour for me and for Australia’s growing Indian-heritage music scene. I am honoured that Charu asked me to be on this.”

Shayan is the latest work by Charu Suri, an internationally celebrated jazz pianist and composer known for her distinctive fusion of jazz, Indian ragas and sacred themes. Her music has received global acclaim for its innovation, spirituality and emotional depth. Suri made history as the first Indian-born artist to premiere original works at Carnegie Hall, where she has performed multiple times to sold-out audiences. Now based in the United States, she is an award-winning recording artist and a Grammy-nominated composer.

Siyer, who has been a Grammy voting member since 2023, has also been in official Grammy Award consideration for four consecutive years from 2022 to 2025 for his original work as a singer, composer and lyricist. His acclaimed album Rain of Bhakti, created in collaboration with Grammy Award-winning producer P.A. Deepak, fellow Indian-Australian musician Bobby Beebob, and Joshua Pereira, won a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards, earning praise for its seamless blend of devotion and modern artistry.

With more than 600 live performances worldwide, Siyer has shared the stage with leading names including Shankar Mahadevan, Udit Narayan and Sadhna Sargam, and has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine. His performances include the Indian National Anthem at the Parliament of Victoria, as well as appearances at major venues such as the MCG and SCG.

Shayan is now available on all major streaming platforms.
