A person has been seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash in Upper Hutt on Wednesday evening, with motorists warned to expect major traffic disruption. Reported by 1News.
Emergency services responded to the incident at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Waterworks Rd in Kaitoke after police were alerted at around 6.35pm.
“Initial indications are that one person is seriously injured,” a police spokesperson said.
“The road is blocked at the intersection, which will likely cause significant delays in both directions.”
Police and other emergency crews remain at the scene as investigations continue. Drivers have been advised to avoid the area where possible and use alternative routes to reduce congestion.
