Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have firmly denied rumours of trouble in their marriage after reports claimed Sunita had filed for divorce.
The couple made a united public appearance by celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at their Mumbai residence on Wednesday, warmly greeting paparazzi and distributing sweets.
Dressed festively, Govinda in a red kurta and Sunita in a purple saree, the duo, joined by their son Yashvardhan, appeared in high spirits. Addressing speculation, Sunita told the media, “Aaj itna close, close… agar kuch hota toh hum itne nazdeek hotey? Koi hum dono ko alag nahi kar sakta hai… mera Govinda sirf mera hi hai,” Mint quoted.
According to a report by Mint, earlier, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha had dismissed the divorce buzz, calling it “outdated and misleading,” while Sunita’s manager Sadia Solkar also denied reports of a strained marriage. However, Govinda’s lawyer had previously confirmed that Sunita filed for divorce six months ago but added that matters were later resolved.
The couple, who tied the knot in the 1980s and revealed their marriage publicly after daughter Tina Ahuja’s birth in 1989, have two children—Tina, who has already ventured into films, and Yashvardhan, who is gearing up for his Bollywood debut.
By celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi together, Govinda and Sunita have sent a strong message to put an end to ongoing speculation about their relationship.
