Producer Dinesh Vijan recently shared insights into the making of Param Sundari, describing it as a story deeply connected to Indian culture while remaining highly relevant for today’s youth.
“Beyond its cross-cultural setting, Param Sundari addresses a theme that resonates strongly with young people right now,” Vijan explained. “Param represents a world heavily shaped by technology—he’s someone who places great faith in apps.”
In contrast, Sundari’s world is far more traditional. “Our girl comes from a place where technology hasn’t had much influence.
There are still parts of India where life is beautifully simple. This clash of worlds was what drew me to the film,” he added.
At its core, Param Sundari explores a timely dilemma: how a generation increasingly dependent on apps—whether for food, work, or love—might be missing out on the charm of authentic, organic connections.
Through the contrasting journeys of Param and Sundari, the film suggests that instincts, rather than algorithms, should guide one’s choices.
Vijan also discussed the casting of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in this rom-com. “Sid is incredibly handsome, yet he hasn’t done a romantic comedy in six years.
Janhvi, on the other hand, embodies Sundari’s spirit but has never played such a role before. Watching these two together is truly exciting.”
He further emphasized that the film reflects Maddock Films’ vision of creating cross-cultural stories with a contemporary appeal.
With Param Sundari, Vijan promises an entertaining mix of romance, humor, and a celebration of India’s diverse cultural fabric.
