There are times when living seems to be unbearable. Deadlines, chores, errands, and duties all manoeuvre so quickly that you seem to be carrying the whole world on your shoulders. And amidst all that turmoil, a small thing can seem like a miracle: a lunch date with the girls.

It’s somehow magical to leave your daily grind, be with people who understand you, and just have a conversation — or a hearty laugh — free of other worries.

A ladies’ lunch date might be mostly about the food, yet there is so much more to it than that. It is basically pausing for a moment, allowing yourself some time to relax, and having somebody else remind you that you are not the only one going through the madness of life.

An hour spent over a light lunch exchanging salads, sandwiches, or pasta can be like hitting a reset button for your mood. Storytelling, sharing a bit, and recalling amusing moments — all of these together make one release the tension they were not even aware of.

The outings are unexpectedly terrific. Participating in different activities with friends, laughing about small things that annoy you, or even being together without a word helps to release that warm, pleasant feeling that when the stress really goes down a bit, almost like your brain is aware of the safety that your body is relaxing so then everything looks a little bit more manageable.

And let's face it: sometimes just witnessing someone else spilling coffee on their shirt or losing their keys softens your own mistakes'… The ladies' lunch dates are also a means of taking care of yourself without feeling selfish. It is a social event but also an act of self-love.

Food is not the only thing you consume; you are renewing your emotional, mental and even physical energy. Leaving the house, getting a different view and being around people who support you are all ways that help your wellness more than scrolling through social networks or watching TV.

And what can be better than that? These lunches do not necessarily need to be grand or complicated. A simple café, a no-stress meal at a friend's house, or packaged food in the park can always work out.

The meals are merely the stage; the dialogues, the fun, and the moments shared are the core. In the long run, the ladies' lunch dates are mini-therapies that are fun in disguise.

They are reminders that we are not meant to share burdens alone; the slightest of moments could brighten our days; and the saying ''good food and even better company'' is sometimes the best medicine. So, grab the phone, reach out to your girls, and make the reservation — your stress levels will be grateful.
