Dr Ashley Bloomfield announced at the daily media address today that more than 92,000 people have registered on the Ministry of Health's NZ Covid Tracer app since its release last night.
The app helps tracks movements of the people registered as a digital diary in order to backtrack if the person or a close contact of the person was detected with Covid-19 infection.
Dr Bloomfield also announced that the number of confirmed and probable cases in New Zealand remained the same as Tuesday, May 19. There are 1153 total confirmed, and 350 probable cases making the NZ total to 1503.
There have been 5 new recoveries in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing NZ's total recovery to 1447, which is 96% of all infected in NZ recovered.
There is only one person in the hospital, at Middlemore and not in ICU.
There were no further deaths reported and the death toll remained 21 as of Wednesday, May 20.
