The Kite Festival is back for another year of fun and frolic for the family on Sunday, January 13.
The event is brought by Vaishnav Parivar (NZ) Inc. who are organising the 13th edition of the Kite Festival at Eastdale Reserve, Avondale.
The event will start at 11 am and continuing till 6.30 pm, giving ample opportunities to festival-goers to enjoy fun, food and entertainment.
The venue is located next to Avondale College on Rosebank Road, Avondale.
"All preparations are completed now. Kites are ready to fly, and manja (kite-string) will be on sale to the public at the event centre," says Manhar Patel from Vaishnav Parivar.
"There will be several stalls with delicious food items, ice gola & kulfi, snacks, juice and soft drinks.
“In addition, there will be lots of entertainment activities for children in the form of fun rides & slide, face painting and drawing competitions.
“Live cultural performances will be one of the attractions of many more cultural programs of the festival,” he added.
Visitors can also buy a $5 raffle ticket to win Gold Coast Holiday Package for two people including four days accommodation. There will be many more attractive prizes as well and later in the evening; there will you can take part in an auction for Slumberzone Deluxe Bed at 6.15 p.m.

“When it comes to parking, around the event site, additional parking at Avondale College will be available on first come first serve basis, and people can use Gate 1 on Victor Street or Gate 3 on Rosebank Road for parking their vehicle,” Mr Patel said.
