Police has arrested and charged two females following an investigation into an aggravated robbery incident at a dairy in Tuakau on Sunday, January 6.
Three female offenders entered the store and stole cigarettes and other items, while one of the females also allegedly assaulted a dairy worker.
The two teenagers arrested will be appearing in the Youth Court on Thursday, January 10 on aggravated robbery charges.
Detective Sergeant Nathan Reid said the enquiries are ongoing to locate the third offender who has now been identified. Police are unable to rule out further charges.
On Sunday, three females entered the Five Star Dairy on George Street in Tuakau, Waikato and demanded cash. On verbal resistance, the females allegedly assaulted the sole worker at the store and took the cash and items from the store.
The CCTV footage of the incident was shared on Tuakau, Pokeno & Districts Facebook page that grabbed instant attention of the community.
The worker was behind the counter and was assaulted and pushed by the offenders.
“We know this incident caused considerable concern in the Tuakau community.
“We want to thank local residents for their assistance in providing information to help identify those allegedly responsible.”
“Police and the public do not tolerate this type of behaviour, and we want to reassure the community that we take these incidents extremely seriously,” Detective Sergeant Nathan Reid said.
