Versatile Bollywood star-actor-agile-dancer and popular TV show judge Mithun Chakraborty, whose disco-centric Hindi retro-movie tracks like I Am a Disco Dancer and Jimmy Jimmy Aaja are the frenzied rage in most parts of Russia, China and East Europe and among NRIs, will spring a surprise on all his loyal fans.

The charismatic Chakraborty who was previously nursing a painful back is now fit and fine and was seen in an offbeat political role in this recent Hindi-English sensitive-slice-of-history film The Tashkent Files.

This time the rugged senior actor will play a pivotal role in an upcoming scare-fare-super-natural comedy movie called Bhootiyapa directed by Manoj Sharma and produced by Kamal Kishor Mishra," reveals director Manoj.

“Our movie is in the genre of the musical hit film Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). In Bhootiyapa we have  Mithun-da, an aristocratic guy who gets three real-life ace stand-up comedians Krushna Abhishek, Rajiv Thakur and Sugandha Mishra playing their real-life roles to perform in his swanky mansion.”

What was the scary twist out here? Reveals funster Krishna Abhishek (popular for his clad-in-drag effeminate weirdo character  ‘Sapna’ in Kapil Sharma’s comedy Sony TV show).

“The catch here is that we are asked to perform for someone special who does not physically exist. It’s a huge honour working with super-talented Mithun-da that too for a freak-out funny movie,” chuckles Abhishek.

Incidentally, it has been observed that generally, Mithun does ‘not’ attend his own film muhurtas (launch events), as he feels his absence proves more ‘lucky’. Which possibly explains his not being present at the launch event.
