Why the Greeks never came back to India
Saturday, August 08, 2009
HK and Arindam Dasgupta
Alexander invaded but couldn't even dream of conquering the vast country. Excellent research work it logically concludes as to why the Macedonians didn't continue their warfare in India. Fear of the larger kingdoms in the interior of the country held Greeks in terror and they beat a hasty retreat, more so when a small kingdom put such a brave fight and almost killed Alexander. But for the promise from Puru history would have been different, in fact it is, but biased historians and filmmakers subvert the truth.

As an Indian, the article makes you wonder how much the West has distorted history to demean us. Also makes you wonder if we could have handed out an Alexander-like treatment to the British, if they had the guts to fight a war and not sneak in disguised as traders. A very well researched article indeed. I sincerely hope the West makes it a part of its history books.
