Mumbai, May 7 (IBNS): Giving a big relief to John Abhraham, the Bombay High Court on Monday upheld the 15-day imprisonment given to the actor for alleged rash and negligent driving.
The court released John on probation under the Probation of Offenders Act.
The Bombay High Court decided to provide John the advantage of the Probation of Offenders Act as this was the first offence he committed.
The court directed John to pay Rs. 10,000 each to the two injured victims as compensation.
John was taken into custody on March 9 after a Mumbai court ordered that the actor needed to spend 15 days in jail for alleged rash driving.
A Sessions Court on March 9 upheld the order given by a lower court in 2010.
However, the Bombay High Court later granted bail to John against a bond of Rs. 20,000 on the same day.
He was found guilty of rash driving in 2006 when he had injured two pedestrians while driving his motorbike in Mumbai's Khar Danda area.
The actor took the injured people to the hospital after the accident
